We regret to announce that 41st Vasaloppet Japan, scheduled from 13 March 2021 until 14 March 2021 and all related events, have been unfortunately cancelled in order to prevent COVID-19 from spreading further.
In the organizing committee, we have been discussing and considering with regard to determine whether to held the event, however we decided to cancel for prioritize safety of all of the participants from in and outside of city and staffs because all infection risk for them cannot be completely prevented due to expanding COVID-19 in all over the country.
It is a bitter decision that Vasaloppet Japan which is a winter sport event representing Asahikawa City, has been canceled for two years in a row as organizers, and we apologized to all participants who were looking forwarded to joining the event. We would like to ask you for your understanding.
We hope that COVID-19 will be over soon, and we ask your support and cooperation for Vasaloppet Japan in the future.
