The 40th Vasaloppet Japan, which was scheduled on March 7th and 8th, will be cancelled, concerning the spreading of the new coronavirus.
We have been making discussions about holding the 40th Vasaloppet Japan.
For the time being, the virus is spreading all over in Japan, making it verry difficult to prevent those being involved in Vasaloppet (including skiiers from outside Asahikawa and staffs) from infection.
Therefore, we decided to cancel all the races and relating events for safety reasons.
It was a bitter decision to cancel the 40th annivarsary Vasaloppet Japan, and we feel sorry to make any troubles to anyone regarding the cancellation.
We appreciate your understanding, and wish from heart for the spreading of the new coronavirus to end as soon as possible.
